Situated just a few metres from the shores of Lake Maggiore, the Centro di Cultura e d’Arte lays in the heart of Ascona’s old town. The venerable 16th century building is shared by a gallery specialising in selected national and international contemporary art, a bistro dedicated to the best ingredients of regional cuisine, characterful guest rooms – a home away from home for our guests, and a picturesque garden that offers space for workshops, readings, concerts and other events.

The centrepiece of the CCAA has always been the Galleria Sacchetti: Looking back on forty years of history, a place for art and all those who feel inspired by it. We specialise in contemporary art of all disciplines and place particular emphasis on showing both local and international artists, as well as established artists and those who are just starting out in their careers.

The portfolio of our bistro is by no means limited to the “bites” from which it takes its name. We spoil our guests with the best that Ticinese cuisine has to offer in a wonderful ambience, both within the historic walls and in the airy yard.

Camere Ospiti

Our guest rooms are located one floor up, either with a view of the alleyways, the inner courtyard or the lake. The rooms have been lovingly restored in a manner befitting their history and display selected works from the gallery.

Our cultural programme includes a wide range of activities, whether in the gallery, our bistro or in the beautiful garden. From art and painting classes to outdoor films, yoga and meditation – every interest has been catered for and our programmes are designed to promote the overall wellbeing of body, mind and soul.
